Online donation is now available

We have added a button on our website to make it easy to send your offering to Bethesda via the Internet.  You will find the donation button in the sidebar about halfway down the right column of every page on the website.  Our online payments are handled by PayPal.  If you already have a PayPal account, you can use it to pay your offering using this button.  If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can use a regular credit or debit card instead.  The church is charged a small fee from each payment made with a credit or debit card, so you may want to adjust your offering accordingly.  The fee works out to $0.85 for a $25 donation, $1.40 for a $50 donation and $2.50 for a $100 donation.

The payment process is fairly straightforward and should be familiar to you if you have done any online shopping.  Just in case, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Click on the ‘Donate’ button.  This will take you to the PayPal site.
  2. You will see a warning about secure and unsecure items.  The unsecure item is the banner image at the top of the page.  Click ‘Yes’ to see the banner or ‘No’ to leave the banner blank.
  3. Enter the amount you wish to donate, then click ‘Update Total’.
  4. Use your PayPal account, or click ‘Continue’ near the bottom of the page where it says, “Use your credit card or bank account.”
  5. Fill in your name, address, phone number and credit card information, then click ‘Review Donation and Continue’.
  6. If you wish to specify a designated fund for your offering, click “Add special instructions for the Merchant” and write the name of the fund you wish to donate to.
  7. Click the “Donate $XX.xx Now” button.
  8. Return to Bethesda’s website.  You will receive an e-mail confirming your donation.

That’s all there is to it.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Kevin (kevinmurphy {at} bethesdaunited(.)org)
