Membership is More!  Membership is more than getting your name on a list.  At Bethesda it signals so much – excitement about Christ’s role in your life, commitment to the point that you want to “sign up”, understanding that being a part of the whole makes the whole stronger in some way that only God can truly know.  Perhaps you have been worshiping here for a time and are ready to take the next step.  If you would like to join Bethesda please let Pastor John know at any of the services or call at 770-921-3753.

Children’s Announcements Vacation Bible School!! June 17-21, 6 to 8:30pm. Parents! You can sign your kids up for VBS at www.groupvbspro.com/vbs/ez/bethesdaumc. Church Members! Please email Marshall if you can help with VBS. I will have donations lists out soon for items that we need donated for snacks and games. Looking forward to another great week of VBS at Bethesda this summer!

Christmas in July???

Not quite, but it is time to think a little about Advent. UMW’s Agape Circle is starting work on an Advent devotion booklet for the church. We are looking for devotions similar in length to what you might read in a ‘Daily Word’ or ‘Upper Room’ devotion book. We need about 35 devotions to cover each day of Advent plus a ‘Go Forth’ section to take us into the New Year. Your contribution can consist of a short story, your favorite passage of Scripture, a poem, or you may choose to write something yourself.

Please let Bev know if you are interested in placing something in the Advent Devotion booklet. All devotions need to be turned in to Bev Hombroek or Martha Gordon by November 1st so that we can get them typed, proofed, printed, and ready to distribute by Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday, November 25.

I hope you and your family will put something in this devotional. What a nice gift to give each other for Christmas…a little bit of ourselves!

Need some help!

Hello all!

Holy week is a busy week — so much going on! That being said, we need your help with a few things if possible:

On Wednesday night after dinner, we need to move the two risers from underneath the church office to the sanctuary (we would like to put them in the room on the left in between the sanctuary and the choir loft).

On Thursday night after the 7 p.m. service, we will need some people to stay and help move some of the stuff (pulpit, etc.) back where it belongs to prepare for Easter Sunday).

On Sunday right after church, we need some help moving some of the stuff back out of the way so we can start setting up for the Children’s Choir play. (We know that’s Easter Sunday, but if you can stay for just 10 minutes, we should be able to get it done).

Thank you in advance for helping! We certainly can’t do it alone, and we appreciate your willingness to help!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are IN GREAT NEED of volunteers to help with our Easter Eggstravaganza! It will be on Palm Sunday, April 17nd from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. (directly after the 11:00 worship service). We need people to help with the games and the Easter Egg Hunt that day; if you would be willing to help that day, please e-mail Katie at katieatcheson {at} bethesdaunited(.)org .  Thank you!
