The acolytes are children who assist the pastor with the worship service in the 11:00 AM traditional service. The acolytes dress in an alb, and are responsible for carrying the light into the church and lighting the candles. They also may assist the pastor in performing communion and with baptisms. Our acolytes receive their training each year in September from Ms. Alicia Voutas.
Have you ever noticed that there are different colored rope belts on our acolytes? The different colors represent how long an acolyte has been in service at Bethesda United Methodist Church.
