On Sunday, August 15, we at Bethesda had our annual homecoming celebration. Thanks go out to the Laymen Quartet and the Chancel Choir for providing the music. Our former youth pastor, David Walters, was welcomed back to give the sermon. Finally, we enjoyed a terrific potluck lunch, thanks to the hospitality committee and everyone who brought the delicious food.

Athel prepared a delicious patriotic picnic dinner this Wednesday night.
Everyone enjoyed the fried chicken, corn, beans and potato salad.
Eventually she brought out lots of home-made ice cream.
John and friends closed the evening with a song.
A great big thank you to the United Methodist Men for sponsoring the Annual Mother’s Day Steak Dinner on May 8th. We had a good crowd and the entertainment was great. Bob Luth headed up this project and did a great job. Each lady in attendance received a box of chocolates and gifts were given to Syble Hunt for having the most (9) children/grandchildren after a tie breaker between she and Shirley Wilder who also has 9 children/grandchildren. Kelly Horton received the gift for having the youngest child. There was another tie breaker for the oldest Mother in attendance between Cleo Foxworth and Louise Wiley with Cleo being the winner because of her birth month. Wow! How about that Easter Eggstravaganza we had in the Fellowship Hall yesterday! A big thanks to Miss Katie and all the volunteers who made this such a fun event. What a wonderful messege, the many names of our Lord and Savior!!! This play was so much fun and educational as well. We are so very proud of these children for their hard work and dedication. It takes alot of time and effort to make it to play practice each Sunday afternoon. We started practicing for this play in August when it was warm and beautiful outside. These children gave up their Sunday afternoon play time to be a part of something special for the Lord.
Thanks to all of you that were able to come and support the children and enjoy the program as well. If you were unable to attend this program, we are planning performance in the spring. It is a blessing to see the kids singing praises to our Lord and Savior. Thanks to everyone that helped make this a success! There is so much that goes on behind the scenes. We could not do it without all the wounderful volunteers that step up and help out each and every time they are asked.

After the 11:00 worship service this morning, we had a potluck luncheon celebrating Consecration Sunday. The hospitality committee always does a great job decorating the fellowship hall for these special events.
