THANK YOU — Sunday School

A great big THANK YOU to everyone who came out for Sunday School Registration yesterday! It was a blessing to have all of God’s children in the chapel for a time of fellowship. Annual Fish Fry – Sept. 11th 4:00 – 7:30pm

It’s that time of year again – the United Methodist Men’s Annual Fish Fry!  However, it takes everyone working together to make this happen.  To volunteer for one of the many jobs, see Matt Retter or Mark Cooper.  We will need help beginning on Thursday night before the Fish Fry to open up the Fish Fry Building and clean all the equipment.  Then Friday night volunteers will set up the fellowship hall (see David Rothmeier) and to chop onions and package slaw (this is done at the Bethesda Elementary School – See Wayne Davis).  WE NEED 100 Home Made Cakes!  The ladies will meet at 9:00am on the Saturday of the Fish Fry to wrap cakes for the to-go boxes.  Then at 3:00 we need all volunteers to help in all areas.  If you are new to Bethesda, come and get involved with this event.  It’s great working together and making this project a successful one.  Watch for futher details.

Congratulations to Catherine and Jason Martin on the birth of their daughter

Outreach Circle Meeting 3/10

The Outreach Circle met in the home of Carolyn Beaty on March 10, 2010.  We had our meeting and will be donating funds for a Preschool Scholarship and helping with the Children’s Easter Eggstravaganza. We will also be providing food for the Service of the Nails luncheon on Friday, April 2.  Carole Martin gave a very informative program on Human Trafficking.  A UMW funded documentary CD has been purchased and will be available for church members to watch.  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch prepared by Carolyn Beaty.  We then put together 9 Easter Baskets for our shut-ins of the church.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 14.  We will be going to the Temple in Lilburn.  We will meet at the church at 9:30.  It is requested that anyone attending wear socks and bring a vegetarian canned good to donate for the temple project.  After the visit we will be going to Chick Fil-A for lunch and then back to the church for a short meeting.  We will also be collecting $5.00 to donate to the Women’s Shelter.

We are in need Easter candy for the Easter Egg Hunt!! If you are able, please donate individually wrapped candy that will fit in plastic Easter eggs that is not chocolate (it melts in the eggs).
